With the development of the information industry, the wearable three‐dimensional (3D) near‐eye display that can provide complete visual information has attracted increasing attention. Compared with other existing 3D display technologies, the holographic display is a promising true 3D display technology that can fully record and reproduce the original 3D scenes. The ability to present a continuous parallax and depth perception gives holography technology an unprecedented promise in the next‐generation 3D near‐eye display. However, currently available holographic near‐eye display systems can only provide a limited viewing area (including the field of view and eyebox), greatly restricting its practical application. Focusing on the development requirements of large viewing‐area 3D holographic near‐eye display, the reasons are introduced first why the viewing area of current holographic displays is limited and then the existing solutions from different aspects, including multiplexing‐based methods, steering viewing window methods, aperiodic wavefront modulation methods, and some emerging holographic display technologies are summarized. These various solutions are analyzed respectively, and their representative works are investigated. In addition, the different applications of holography in the near‐eye display system are also discussed. Attaining highly uniform operations in a disordered system presents a persistent challenge. The utilization of ion migration in amorphous materials to trigger the resistive switching process of the material usually results in inferior uniformity of the memristive device. Here, we demonstrate that the resistive switching behavior can be activated through carrier doping in the disorder system, and highly ordered resistance modulation is achieved in Ag-doped albumen. By manipulating the doping level of the carrier, the localization of the free electron wavefunction can be tuned, leading to multi-level variations in resistance. This memristive switching behavior is in all electronic and displays excellent switching uniformity, holding great potential for applications in high-density memories and neuromorphic computing chips. Electrochromic devices have important applications in building energy conservation, next‐generation displaying, and security encryption, while durable and high‐performance electrochromic materials are highly desirable. Herein, a Zn‐based electrochromic smart window by using 3D ordered macroporous amorphous WO3 (a‐WO3) arrays as cathode is reported. Benefiting from a 3D ordered macroporous structure with a high specific surface area that accelerates the ion diffusion and migration, and the oxygen vacancy modulated a‐WO3 providing abundant zinc ion insertion channels, the as‐fabricated zinc‐based a‐WO3 inverse opal (a‐WO3‐IO) device exhibits excellent electrochromic properties, including large light modulation (83% optical contrast at 700 nm), fast response time (5.3 s for coloring and 3.2 s for bleaching), and robust cycling stability. Moreover, a solid‐state a‐WO3‐IO prototype electrochromic smart window is demonstrated for light modulation, electronic display, and power supply. Furthermore, experimental results and theoretical calculations reveal that 3D macroporous amorphous WO3 with rich oxygen vacancies can enhance the zinc ion absorption and diffusion, leading to the enhancement of electrochromic performance. Introduction: Quantitative research and quality improvement (QI) both seek to improve care provided to patients. However, clinicians often blur the lines between how to appropriately analyze data from these methodologies. Clinicians may inappropriately use statistical analyses for QI initiatives, rather than using run and statistical process control (SPC) charts to analyze improvements in outcomes. Objective: The purpose of this article was to address the analytic methods used for QI initiatives in the clinical setting in an effort to show clinicians how to identify meaningful improvements in clinical practice. Methods: In this article, we provide an example comparing the same evidence-based practice/QI initiative (chlorhexidine gluconate bathing in a medical intensive care unit) using a quasi-experimental pretest/posttest research design with statistical analyses completed with t tests with analyses using run and SPC charts to show the data trended over time. Using a pretest/posttest design, chlorhexidine gluconate bathing compliance improved from 63%to 65%, a nonsignificant change, P = .075. These same data plotted on run and SPC charts, however, show a shift and a trend, indicating clinically significant improvements per QI methodologies. Conclusion: The example in this article highlights the pitfall of relying only on statistical analyses and P values to determine the importance of a clinical project, and provides a practical example for how run or SPC charts can be used to identify improvements over time. New crystalline tetranuclear cluster is prepared by the interaction of manganese(II) chloride with calix[4]arene 3 functionalized at the upper rim by distal p-(4-nitrophenyl)diazenyl and p-tert-butyl groups displaying different electronic effects and sizes. The structure of the cluster is studied by single-crystal XRD. Due to the presence of (4-nitrophenyl)diazenyl moieties at the upper rim of the macrocyclic ligand, the molecules of the tetranuclear clusters are involved in π-stacking interactions leading to the formation of 2D supramolecular layers affording a porous crystal packing. In the pursuit of highly active electrocatalysts is crucial to overcome the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, Fe–CoS 2 /carbon nanotubes anchored on carbon polyhedron (Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs) is prepared by using zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-8@ZIF-67) as template. A series of analysis demonstrates the incorporation of Fe via wrapped Fe-EDTA can exert charge transfer between Co and Fe and optimize the adsorption of targeted intermediates, which favors for enhanced OER performance. Moreover, the catalytic effect of Co and Fe not only promotes the growth of carbon nanotubes but also enhances the degree of graphitization. The carbon skeletons embedded with carbon nanotubes derived from ZIF-8@ZIF-67 offer high specific surface area and strengthen the electrical conductivity of Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs. Therefore, compared with its counterpart and commercial RuO 2 , the designed Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs with regulated electronic structure displays the lowest overpotential of 293 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm−2 in 1.0 M KOH solution for OER. Simple Summary: This interview study delves into the potential of using AI-based clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) during meetings focused on multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTMs) for breast cancer. This Part covers Learning Management Systems, infographics, podcasting, videos, websites, social media, online discussion forums, simulation, virtual patients, extended and virtual reality. Intertwined are other topics, such as online small group teaching, game-based learning, FOAM, online social and collaboration learning, and virtual care teaching. We end by discussing digital scholarship and emerging technologies. Visual misinformation poses unique challenges to public health due to its potential for persuasiveness and rapid spread on social media. In this article, librarians at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System identify four types of visual health misinformation: misleading graphs and charts, out of context visuals, image manipulation in scientific publications, and AI-generated images and videos. To educate our campus's health sciences audience and wider community on these topics, we have developed a range of instruction about visual health misinformation. Topological transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted much attention due to their potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. In this work, the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 are systematically investigated under high pressure. A pressure‐induced Lifshitz transition is evidenced by the change of charge carrier type as well as the Fermi surface. Superconductivity is observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome‐shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Furthermore, the theoretical calculations suggest the presence of multiple pressure‐induced topological quantum phase transitions, which coexists with emergence of superconductivity. Cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM), especially single‐particle analysis, has become a powerful technique for visualizing the structure of biological macromolecules at high resolution. However, data acquisition in cryo‐EM is time consuming because it requires the collection of thousands of images to achieve a high‐quality reconstruction. Real‐time preprocessing and display of the images can greatly enhance the efficiency and quality of data collection. This study presents AutoEMage, a new open‐source software package that automates data transfer, preprocessing and real‐time display in cryo‐EM experiments. AutoEMage also includes a real‐time data monitoring system that alerts users to issues with their data, allowing them to take corrective actions accordingly. Aerosol jet printing (AJP) is a new non-contact direct writing technique designed to achieve precise and intricate patterns on various substrates. Specifically, the pneumatic AJP process breaks down the ink into fine particles, significantly reducing the risk of nozzle clogging and rendering it highly advantageous for industrial applications. This paper focuses on the optimization of the line electrode formation process using soluble silver clusters as the conductive ink, along with the aerosol formation procedure. The main parameters of the AJP process, namely sheath flow rate, atomizer flow rate, and dispensing speed, were identified and examined for their influence on line width and resistivity. Through this analysis, an operability window, including optimized conditions for printing high-quality lines using the AJP process, was established, along with a regression equation enabling the statistical estimation of line width. In summary, the outcomes of this investigation underscore the feasibility of an integrated printing system capable of precision control over line width, achieved through the optimization of AJP process parameters. Furthermore, it was established that pneumatic AJP offers robust process stability. The practical applicability of the proposed optimization techniques was assessed, highlighting their potential utilization in electrode formation processes within the electronic and display industry. Navigation is a joint operation between humans and technology. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more critical and risky task than other types of ship navigation due to high speed and time limitations. Situational awareness (SA) is the understanding of what is going on around the navigators. HSC navigator who has an insufficient level of SA may lead to wrong decisions and even accidents. In this study, an analysis of Turkish HSC navigators' SA levels has been carried out in their working environment. Situational Awareness Rating Technique (SART) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SA questionnaires were applied. According to SA, navigation operations, factors that mostly affect SA and suggestions that would increase SA were sorted in accordance with the navigators' perceptions. The results show that the level of HSC navigators' SA is high and sufficient. Finally, considerations are introduced to keep acceptable levels or increase SA on HSCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To determine the impact of a business intelligence dashboard tool to optimize automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs). Methods: A pre-post implementation design was used to evaluate key performance indicators (KPI) before and after the implementation of a dashboard tool to optimize ADCs. Eleven ADCs were optimized in 2 phases according to dashboard recommendations: (1) removal of unused medications over 90 days, (2) adjusting periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) levels, and (3) addition of commonly dispensed medications. The KPI measures that were assessed included inventory cost, no. of stocked medications, stockout percentage, vend to refill ratio, and missing dose messages from nursing. An interrupted-time-series regression was used to quantify the impact of ADCs on the means of measured KPIs. Results: Differences in mean distribution of all KPIs, except missing dose, between the pre- and post-ADC periods during the Phase 1 period were statistically significant: inventory cost (54.2 vs 56), stockout percentage (1.55 vs 1.12), vend to refill ratio (6.83 vs 6.14), and missing dose messages (221 vs 229). Only the mean ADC utilization (57.3 vs 64) and missing dose (228 vs 179) were statistically different between the pre- and post-ADC periods in Phase 2. The interrupted-time-series analysis showed that Phase 1 optimization significantly reduced the cost of inventory (β = −$1.238.00, P <.01), no. Stocked medications (β = −8.2, P <.01), percent stockout (β = −.49%, P <.01), vend-to-refill ratio (β = −1.29%, P<.01) and ADC utilization (β = −.2, P <.01). Dual-display encoded libraries have resulted in the identification of pairs of synergistic binders, which have been further developed into high-affinity ligands. Novel selection modalities based on simultaneous display of binding molecules with molecules of selected functionality have recently been developed, creating opportunities for screening target proteins both in solution and in a cellular context. The versatility of encoding designs makes it possible to modulate the distance between ligands. Dual-display libraries can be used to explore ligand geometry and spacing for improving binding synergy. Affinity maturation by selections is an established use of dual-display encoded libraries and is an accessible method for improving the binding affinity of known ligands. DNA-encoded chemical library technology (DECL or DEL) has become an important pillar for small-molecule drug discovery. The technology rapidly identifies small-molecule hits for relevant target proteins at low cost and with a high success rate, including ligands for targeted protein degradation (TPD). More recently, the setup of DNA- or peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-encoded chemical libraries based on the simultaneous display of ligand pairs, termed dual-display, allows for more sophisticated applications which will be reviewed herein. Both stable and dynamic dual-display DEL technologies enable innovative affinity-based selection modalities, even on and in cells. Novel methods for a seamless conversion between single- and double-stranded library formats allow for even more versatility. BACKGROUND: Police Tactical Groups (PTGs) are specialist police units tasked with rigorous physical and psychosocial duties. Consequently, selection courses (SCs) for service in these units must also be rigorous. Given the intensity of SCs, holistic monitoring for potential overstress may be beneficial. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is one holistic stress measure that can be obtained in austere environments. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to profile HRV during a PTG SC. Six (n = 6) qualified male police officers attempted a 36-hour PTG selection course held at an Australian state facility. METHODS: HRV was obtained from Equivitaltrademark EQ02 + LifeMonitor bioharnesses. The selection course consisted of physically demanding events with minimal sleep (approx. 45 mins). Only one candidate completed the full selection course; whose results are reported here. RESULTS: A visual time-series of 384 consecutive 5 min HRV analyses was generated. Contextual analysis was applied to appreciate HRV changes between SC serials. HRV decline occurred during the planning of a navigation exercise and a pack march. Increases in HRV were observed throughout the pack march exercise and rest period. CONCLUSION: This case study demonstrates the potential utility for selection personnel to obtain additional insight into candidate responses to various occupational challenges throughout an SC. Information provided by HRV monitoring may support leadership decisions when evaluating personnel holistically. For example, the ability to continue occupational task execution even while experiencing potential overstress (as measured by HRV) and after food and sleep deprivation is desirable. Background: Dashboards visually display quality and safety data to aid nurses in making informed decisions. Purpose: This systematic review evaluated quality improvement (QI) dashboard characteristics associated with interventions to improve patient outcomes and positive end-user evaluation. Methods: Literature was searched from 2012 to 2022 in PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, MEDLINE, and Google Scholar. Results: Sixteen articles were included. Varied dashboard characteristics were noted, with mixed patient outcomes and end-user responses. Graphs and tabular presentations were associated with improved patient outcomes, whereas graphs were associated with end-user satisfaction. Benchmarks were noted with improved patient outcomes but not end-user satisfaction. Interactive dashboards were important for end users and improved patient outcomes. Conclusion: Nurses can find dashboards helpful in guiding QI projects. Dashboards may include graphs and/or tables, benchmarks, and interactivity but should be useful, usable, and aligned to unit needs. Let us consider the following scenario: A human is working with a corpus of text documents. In this corpus, the human needs to know documents with similar content and highlight relevant locations in the retrieved documents. An information system displaying the contents of the corpus and providing an information retrieval agent will help the human. To perform information retrieval on the corpus, the agent used internally in the information system may need additional data associated with the documents. In order to support this, the so-called Subjective Content Descriptions (SCDs) provide additional location-specific data for text documents. SCDs are subjective in the sense that the agent associates data with sentences to reflect the beliefs of users. In our scenario, the agent needs SCDs referencing sentences of similar content across various documents in the corpus and most text documents are not associated with SCDs. Therefore, this paper presents UESM, the Unsupervised Estimator for SCD Matrices, an approach to associate any corpus with SCDs. In an evaluation, we show that the performance of UESM in estimating topics of similar content in the corpus is on par with Latent Dirichlet Allocation, while UESM provides the SCDs referencing sentences of similar content. The mura defects of thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panels have low contrast and random locations, which makes it impossible for us to correctly evaluate the number and type of mura defects on the image in the field inspection. In response to the above problems, this paper proposes a lightweight YOLO-ADPAM detection method based on an attention mechanism. First, we designed a K-means-ciou++ clustering algorithm using the Complete-Intersection-Over-Union loss function to cluster the anchor box size of the display defect dataset, making the bounding box regression more accurate and stable and improving the recognition and positioning accuracy of the algorithm. Second, we design a parallel attention module, combining the advantages of the channel and spatial attention mechanisms to effectively extract helpful information from feature maps. The channel attention branch can compensate for the defect information lost by global average pooling to a certain extent, and selecting a larger convolution kernel in the spatial attention branch is beneficial to retain crucial spatial information. Third, using atrous spatial pyramid pooling and depthwise separable convolution in the Neck network can further improve the receptive field of the feature map and improve the detection accuracy of the network. The experimental results show that the mAP of our proposed YOLO-ADPAM algorithm in TFT-LCD defect detection reaches 98.20%, and the detection speed reaches 83.23 FPS, which meets the detection accuracy and real-time requirements of TFT-LCD defect detection tasks. The recent progress on the liquid crystalline (LC) dispersion of two‐dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides (MXenes) has propelled this unique nanomaterial into a realm of high‐performance architectures, such as films and fibers. Additionally, compared to architectures made from typical non‐LC dispersions, those derived from LC MXene possess tunable ion transport routes and enhanced conductivity and physical properties, demonstrating great potential for a wide range of applications, such as electronic displays, smart glasses, and thermal camouflage devices. This review provides an overview of the progress achieved in the production and processing of LC MXenes, including critical discussions on satisfying the required conditions for LC formation. It also highlights how acquiring LC MXenes has broadened the current solution‐based manufacturing paradigm of MXene‐based architectures, resulting in unprecedented performances in their conventional applications (e.g., energy storage and strain sensing) and in their emerging uses (e.g., tribology). Opportunities for innovation and foreseen challenges are also discussed, offering future research directions on how to further benefit from the exciting potential of LC MXenes with the aim of promoting their widespread use in designing and manufacturing advanced materials and applications. Flat panel displays are electronic displays that are thin and lightweight, making them ideal for use in a wide range of applications, from televisions and computer monitors to mobile devices and digital signage. The Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) layer is responsible for controlling the amount of light that passes through each pixel and is located behind the liquid crystal layer, enabling precise image control and high-quality display. As one of the important parameters to evaluate the display performance, the faster response time provides more frames in a second, which benefits many high-end applications, such as applications for playing games and watching movies. To further improve the response time, the single-pixel charging efficiency is investigated in this paper by optimizing the TFT dimensions in gate driver circuits in active-matrix liquid crystal displays. The accurate circuit simulation model is developed to minimize the signal's fall time ( T f ) by optimizing the TFT width-to-length ratio. Our results show that using a driving TFT width of 6790 μ m and a reset TFT width of 640 μ m resulted in a minimum T f of 2.6572 μ s , corresponding to a maximum pixel charging ratio of 90.61275%. This paper introduces a novel differentiator-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller for a wind energy conversion system (WECS) equipped with a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Building upon our previous algorithms, the proposed controller reduces the need for detailed system information and displays enhanced robustness against parameter variations and disturbances. The innovation lies in the elimination of the need for explicit functional forms or specific parameter values in the system's dynamics, relying solely on relative degrees and control directions. Utilizing a higher-order switching differentiator (HOSD), this paper outlines a method for overestimating the time derivatives of system outputs, thereby simplifying both the controller design and stability analysis. Compared to existing solutions, the proposed method requires minimal information, offers simpler control law structures, and follows a systematic design approach with fewer design constants. Simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed controller in both tracking maximum power and regulating reactive power to zero, suggesting a more efficient and simplified approach to MPPT control in WECS. Objectives: Managing multimorbidity as aging stroke patients is complex; standard self-management programs necessitate adaptations. We used visual analytics to examine complex relationships among aging stroke survivors' comorbidities. These findings informed pre-adaptation of a component of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. Methods: Secondary analysis of 2013–2014 Medicare claims with stroke as an index condition, hospital readmission within 90 days (n = 42,938), and 72 comorbidities. Visual analytics identified patient subgroups and co-occurring comorbidities. Guided by the framework for reporting adaptations and modifications to evidence-based interventions, an interdisciplinary team developed vignettes that highlighted multimorbidity to customize the self-management program. Results: There were five significant subgroups (z = 6.19, p <.001) of comorbidities such as obesity and cancer. We constructed 6 vignettes based on the 5 subgroups. Discussion: Aging stroke patients often face substantial disease-management hurdles. Background: The substantial growth in gamification research has connected gamified learning to enhanced engagement, improved performance, and greater motivation. Similar to gamification, personalized learning analytics dashboards can enhance student engagement. Objectives: This study explores the student experiences and academic achievements using a gamified dashboard in a large, introductory STEM course. Methods: We examined two groups of students enrolled in different sections of a one‐semester‐long physical geology course with a total enrollment of 223 students. The only difference between the groups was that one had access to the dashboard. The data collection included students' assignments, overall performances, and exam scores. Students in both sections completed a Science Literacy Concept Inventory survey at the beginning and end of the term. Additionally, students completed an end‐of‐term survey containing open‐ended questions on their experience and interactions with specific elements. Results: Students shared mostly positive comments about their experience with the dashboard, and the final grade of students with access to the dashboard was 13% higher, on average, compared to their peers in the non‐dashboard section. Conclusion: With low costs and little time invested, gamified dashboards could have a significant impact on student performance in large STEM lecture courses. Lay Description: What is already known about this topic: Leaner dashboards that provide personalized feedback are linked to improved student performance in undergraduate STEM courses. However, students may be reticent to adopt dashboards, especially students in the middle range of the performance distribution, for whom the impact of the dashboard may be most significant.Prior research on gamification in STEM courses suggests that adding gameful elements like progress trackers, badges, and rewards can increase students' engagement in undergraduate coursework.The combination of personalized learning in dashboards and the motivational experience of gamification should boost student engagement, dashboard adoption, and ultimately foster academic achievement. What this paper adds: In this paper, we examine the differences in academic performance between students with and without access to a gamified learning dashboard in an undergraduate Geology course.We observe that students with access to the dashboard (the treatment group), outperform students without access (the control group). The greatest benefit is observed for students who use the dashboard more frequently.Students reported that the progress tracker, the badges, and the rewards all incentivized their use and provided useful feedback about their performance. Students who did not adopt the dashboard expressed a need for more detail about the tool and its purpose. Healthcare providers often encounter clinical trial results in the form of visual data displays. Although there is a robust literature on patient responses to data displays in medical settings, less is known about how providers comprehend and apply this information. Our study provides a scoping review of the literature on providers' reactions to and perceptions of data displays. We searched article databases (PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, the Cochrane Library) supplemented by handsearching. Eligible articles were published in English from 1990 to 2020. We identified 15 articles meeting our criteria. Studies with physicians were more prevalent (13/15) than those with other healthcare providers (6/15). Commonly assessed outcomes included objective (10/15) and subjective comprehension (4/15), preference for certain data display formats (6/15), and hypothetical decision-making around prescribing (4/15). In studies that assessed comprehension of clinical trial concepts, scores were average or below what would be considered mastery of the information. Data display formats that were preferred did not always correlate with better comprehension of information; lesser preferred formats (e.g. icon array) often resulted in better comprehension. Our findings suggest that healthcare providers may not accurately interpret complex types of data displays, and it is unknown if such limitations affect actual decision-making. Urban excavation is an indispensable process for many construction activities such as road paving, house building, and pipe rehabilitation. However, the everincreasing complexity of underground utilities (e.g., water mains, gas lines, and sewage pipes) in urban environments challenges the safety of urban excavation, posing tremendous risks of potential collision and damage accidents. By obtaining real-time excavation information and high-fidelity simulation to evaluate safety risks, digital twin (DT) has an unexplored potential to improve urban excavation safety (UES). This research aims to investigate how a DT for urban excavation can be developed and used to improve UES. First, a multisensory solution is proposed to equip the physical excavators with the capability to precisely estimate their three-dimensional (3D) poses based on the kinematic model and social spider algorithm (SSA). Second, a building information model (BIM) of buried utilities and a 3D model of the excavators are integrated to form a dynamic virtual model that mirrors the actual excavation process. Third, based on the physical-virtual coupling DT, a real-time safety control method is proposed to proactively monitor urban excavation, dynamically assess collision risk, and timely warn against unsafe behaviors. A system prototype was developed and applied in a case study in Shandong, China. Results show that the system can precisely twin the pose of the excavator, increasing the estimation accuracy of the translation by at least 4.0 cm. The system can display the dynamic spatial position of the excavator and the buried pipes in 3D and automatically guide the excavator to operate safely in real-time, thereby avoiding potential collision accidents. Maritime safety is important for all stakeholders. On the other hand, maritime accidents occur despite rapid advances in technology. One of the most important aspects necessary to realise safety at sea is the safety of navigation. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more challenging and risky task than other types of ship navigation. A HSC navigator with insufficient safety culture (SC) may lead to wrong decisions in challenging physiological and psychological conditions. In this study, an analysis of HSC navigators' SC in terms of bridge operations has been carried out. Nordic Occupational Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SC have been applied to 38 Turkish HSC navigators. Navigation operations according to SC, factors that mostly influence SC and suggestions that will improve SC have been identified and discussed in accordance with navigators' perceptions. The monitoring performance of the photovoltaic system in real time is required for estimation and optimization purposes. This monitoring system has been the subject of extensive research, but in general it employs costly commercial software and as well as other license-based software. This paper discusses the design of a photovoltaic parameter monitoring system that uses Internet of Things technology to monitor in real time. This software is intended to be as interactive as possible in order to display all measurement data in the form of graphical according to a user-specified time interval. The constructed system is tested to display the measurement parameters of the fixed and dual axis solar tracker. The test results indicate that the system can display data in real time. Every data shown is accessible from any location and at any time, so long as the device being used is connected to the Internet. The rapid use of additive manufacturing (AM) in electronic industry identifies the need of flexible electrically conductive materials suitable for 3D printing. Challenges like buckling of flexible filament and complexity in addition of conductive fillers makes pellet‐based extrusion the most suitable alternative for part printing. In the present work, graphite powder is combined with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) to print flexible electrically conductive parts. EVA graphite composite with filler loading up to 30% has been investigated for its electrical conductivity and part printability. The composite made was found electrically conductive and suitable for part printing. The parts were printed on a CNC milling machine by using a retrofitted material extrusion tool with nozzle of 0.4 mm diameter and temperature range of 130–140°C. Parts were printed on a detchable heating bed placed on the milling machine setup. Samples of EVA with graphite filler by weight of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30% were printed and were checked for electrical conductivity. When the filler content was increased from 10% to 20%, the electrical resistance of the composite was reduced by 62.6%. The presence and uniform dispersion of graphite flakes in the polymer matrix of EVA were guaranteed by the rheological and morphological characterization of the composite. Applications of 3D printable flexible electrically conductive parts lies in numerous domains including biosensors, wearable health monitoring devices, capacitors, field effective transistors, light emitting diodes, solar cells, and electronic displays. Silver‐zinc (Ag–Zn) batteries are a promising battery system for flexible electronics owing to their high safety, high energy density, and stable output voltage. However, poor cycling performance, low areal capacity, and inferior flexibility limit the practical application of Ag–Zn batteries. Herein, we develop a flexible quasi‐solid‐state Ag–Zn battery system with superior performance by using mild electrolyte and binder‐free electrodes. Copper foam current collector is introduced to impede the growth of Zn dendrite, and the structure of Ag cathode is engineered by electrodeposition and chloridization process to improve the areal capacity. This novel battery demonstrates a remarkable cycle retention of 90% for 200 cycles at 3 mA cm−2. More importantly, this binder‐free battery can afford a high capacity of 3.5 mAh cm−2 at 3 mA cm−2, an outstanding power density of 2.42 mW cm−2, and a maximum energy density of 3.4 mWh cm−2. An energy management circuit is adopted to boost the output voltage of a single battery, which can power electronic ink display and Bluetooth temperature and humidity sensor. The developed battery can even operate under the extreme conditions, such as being bent and sealed in solid ice. Topological transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted much attention due to their potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. In this work, the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 are systematically investigated under high pressure. A pressure‐induced Lifshitz transition is evidenced by the change of charge carrier type as well as the Fermi surface. Superconductivity is observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome‐shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Furthermore, the theoretical calculations suggest the presence of multiple pressure‐induced topological quantum phase transitions, which coexists with emergence of superconductivity. Purpose: Patellofemoral arthroplasty (PFA) was shown to be a potentially effective surgical technique for isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis but varying reports on PFA-related implant failure and complications have rendered the procedure controversial. This study aimed to identify impactful publications, research interests/efforts, and collaborative networks in the field of PFA research. Methods: The study used the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database, Medline, Springer, BIOSIS Citation Index, and PubMed to retrieve relevant publications on PFA research published between 1950–2022. Statistical tests in R software were used for analysis while VOSviewer, Bibliometrix, and CiteSpace were employed for data visualization. Results: Two hundred forty-one articles were analyzed with the number of published papers increasing over time. Knee was the most frequent journal and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research was the most cited journal. Clinical outcomes, such as prosthesis survival, revision, and complications, were researched most frequently as demonstrated by keyword analysis. The United States was the top contributor to cooperative networks, followed by the United Kingdom while Technical University Munich formed close ties among authors. Conclusion: Publications on PFA research have witnessed a notable surge. They primarily came from a limited number of centers and were characterized by low-level evidence. The crucial need for perpetual monitoring of photovoltaic (PV) systems, particularly in remote areas where routine inspections are challenging, is of major importance. This paper introduces an advanced approach to optimizing the maximum power point while ensuring real-time PV error handling. The overarching problem of securing continuous monitoring of photovoltaic systems is highlighted, emphasizing the need for reliable performance, especially in remote and inaccessible locations. The proposed methodology employs an innovative genetic algorithm (GA) designed to optimize the maximum power point of photovoltaic systems. This approach takes into account critical PV parameters and constraints. The single-diode PV modeling process, based on environmental variables like outdoor temperature, illuminance, and irradiance, plays a pivotal role in the optimization process. To specifically address the challenge of perpetual monitoring, the paper introduces a technique for handling PV errors in real time using evolutionary-based optimization. The genetic algorithm is utilized to estimate the maximum power point, with the PV voltage and current calculated on the basis of simulated values. A meticulous comparison between the expected electrical output and the actual photovoltaic data is conducted to identify potential errors in the photovoltaic system. A user interface provides a dynamic display of the PV system's real-time status, generating alerts when abnormal PV values are detected. Rigorous testing under real-world conditions, incorporating PV-monitored values and outdoor environmental parameters, demonstrates the remarkable accuracy of the genetic algorithm, surpassing 98% in predicting PV current, voltage, and power. This study investigated the effects of wearing AR devices on users' performance and comfort ratings while performing order-picking (OP) tasks. In addition to a picking-by-paper list, two AR devices combined with three order information display designs were examined. Thirty adult participants joined. They searched for and found the boxes in the order list, picked them up, and returned to the origin. The time to complete the task and the number of incorrect boxes picked up were analyzed to assess the performance of the tasks. The subjective ratings of the participants on the comfort rating scale (CRS) and the simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ) were collected to assess the designs of both the AR devices and the order information displays. It was found that the participants could complete the OP tasks faster when adopting the order map (4.97 ± 1.57 min) or the 3D graph display (4.87 ± 1.50 min) using either one of the AR devices than when using a paper list (6.03 ± 1.28 min). However, they needed more time to complete the OP tasks when wearing both types of AR glasses when the Quick Response (QR) code option was adopted (10.16 ± 4.30 min) than when using a paper list. The QR code scanning and display design using either one of the AR devices guaranteed 100% accuracy but sacrificed efficiency in task completion. The AR device with a binocular display and hand gesture recognition functions had a significantly lower CRS score in the dimensions of attachment and movement (5.6 and 6.3, respectively) than the corresponding dimensions (8.0 and 8.3, respectively) of the other device with a monocular and hand touch input design. There were complaints of eye strain after using both AR devices examined in this study. This implies that these AR devices may not be suitable to wear for extended periods of time. Environmental radioactivity study was performed in unconventional hydrocarbons areas for the first time in Mexico, where four unconventional hydrocarbon exploratory wells (UHEW) are planned. This study assesses natural radiological conditions in areas around UHEW. Equivalent dose rate distribution displayed in Geographic Information System (GIS) had a maximum of 1.83 mSv a−1 and minimum of 0.04 mSv a−1, GIS was also used for introducing land usage, water resources and population occupancy. Measurements of gross alpha and gross beta in water were below the national permissible limits for drinking water 0.5 and 1.0 Bq L−1 respectively, even though samples do not correspond to drinking water. Evaluation of 238U and 226Ra in groundwater were below minimum detectable concentration 1.3 and 1.0 Bq L−1, respectively. This study provides a radiological baseline for the impact of future industrial activities, especially if exploitation of unconventional hydrocarbons produces naturally occurring radioactive material. (1) Background: Changes in blink parameters have been found to influence ocular surface exposure, eliciting symptoms of dry eye and ocular signs. The aim of the study was to highlight the relevance of including blink regularity as a new parameter to fully characterize blinking; (2) Methods: A novel characterization of blink parameters is described, including spontaneous eyeblink rate (SEBR), percentage of incomplete blinks, and blink regularity. A pilot study was designed in which tear film break-up time (TFBUT), blink parameters, and the time percentage of ocular surface exposure were determined in eight subjects (52.0 ± 16.6 years, 4 females) in three experimental conditions (baseline, reading a hard-copy text, and reading from an electronic display). Blink parameters were monitored through asynchronous image analysis of one minute video segments; (3) Results: All blink parameters were influenced by experimental conditions. A trend was observed in which both reading tasks resulted in an increase in ocular surface exposure, mainly related to a combination of reduced SEBR, increased percentage of incomplete blinks, and loss of blink regularity; (4) Conclusions: A complete characterization of blink parameters is relevant to better understand ocular dryness related to surface exposure and to advice patients towards a reeducation of their blinking habits. Background: The term "Telemedicine" is being used in the medical and health sector to treat patients and to provide medical guidance remotely. The intellectual output from India in terms of publications was harvested from Scopus® with the keyword "Telemedicine" and analyzed by using bibliometric techniques. Methods: The source data was downloaded from the Scopus® database. All the publications on telemedicine and indexed in the database up to the year 2021 were considered for scientometric analysis. The software tools VOSviewer® version 1.6.18 to visualize bibliometric networks, statistical software R Studio® version 3.6.1 with the Bibliometrix package Biblioshiny® were used for analysis and data visualization, and EdrawMind® was used for mind mapping. Result: India contributed 2,391 (4.32%) publications on telemedicine to a total of 55,304 publications worldwide until 2021. There were 886 (37.05%) papers that appeared in open access mode. The analysis revealed that the first paper was published in the year 1995 from India. Steep growth in the number of publications was observed in 2020 with 458 publications. The highest, 54 research publications, appeared in the "Journal of Medical Systems." The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, contributed the highest number of publications (n = 134). A considerable overseas collaboration was observed (USA: 11%; UK: 5.85%). Conclusions: This is the first such attempt to address the intellectual output of India in the emerging medical discipline of telemedicine and has yielded useful information such as leading authors, institutions, their impact, and year-wise topic trends. Phosphate tungsten and molybenum bronzes represent an outstanding class of materials displaying textbook examples of charge‐density‐wave (CDW) physics among other fundamental properties. Here we report on the existence of a novel structural branch with the general formula [Ba(PO4)2][WmO3m−3] (m=3, 4 and 5) denominated ′layered monophosphate tungsten bronzes′ (L‐MPTB). It results from thick [Ba(PO4)2]4− spacer layers disrupting the cationic metal‐oxide 2D units and enforcing an overall trigonal structure. Their symmetries are preserved down to 1.8 K and the compounds show metallic behaviour with no clear anomaly as a function of temperature. However, their electronic structure displays the characteristic Fermi surface of previous bronzes derived from 5d W states with hidden nesting properties. By analogy with previous bronzes, such a Fermi surface should result into CDW order. Evidence of CDW order was only indirectly observed in the low‐temperature specific heat, giving an exotic context at the crossover between stable 2D metals and CDW order. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Designing photochromic systems with information displays has been seldom studied but is critical to the realization of instant hand-writable system. Previous instant hand-writable systems with inorganic photochromic materials limited to low color contrast. Herein, by controlling the sintering environment and ion doping concentration, an excellent light response is achieved by engineering the formation of oxygen vacancy defects in Ba 3 MgSi 2 O 8 :0.25%Dy3+, the maximum color contrast as high as 80.7%. A hand-rewritable system fabricated using these photochromic materials exhibits excellent writing and erasing reversibility in response to UV illumination and thermal stimulus. In addition, a large luminescence modulation of 86.2% is achieved due to the well overlap between the emission peak of Dy3+ and the absorption peak of Ba 3 MgSi 2 O 8. Sr 2 Si 5 N 8 :Eu2+ (258) phosphor has attracted much attention due to its excellent red emission properties. However, its poor thermal stability hinders its further development in electronic display devices. Therefore, it is important to solve this problem in order to produce stable and long life-time WLED devices. In this work, a 258 phosphor was synthesized by a simple solid-phase reaction method, which was then coated by an ultrathin carbon layer by chemical vapor deposition. The carbon-coated powders were further annealed in N 2 atmosphere at a high temperature to trigger the carbothermal reaction. On the one hand, the carbothermal reaction resulted in the removal of oxygen in the phosphor particle by a part of the carbon on the surface, which reduced the oxidation of both the luminescent centers and the host lattice. On the other hand, the remaining carbon crystallized, forming a graphene-like multilayer that protected the phosphor particle from the penetration of the external oxygen. This eventually resulted in a significant improvement of the thermal stability and oxidation resistance of the phosphor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Self-healing is a bioinspired strategy to repair damaged conductors under repetitive wear and tear, thereby largely extending the life span of electronic devices. The self-healing process often demands external triggering conditions as the practical challenges for the widespread applications. Here, a compliant conductor with electrically self-healing capability is introduced by combining ultrahigh sensitivity to minor damages and reliable recovery from ultrahigh tensile deformations. Conductive features are created in a scalable and low-cost fabrication process comprising a copper layer on top of liquid metal microcapsules. The efficient rupture of microcapsules is triggered by structural damages in the copper layer under stress conditions as a result of the strong interfacial interactions. The liquid metal is selectively filled into the damaged site for the instantaneous restoration of the metallic conductivity. The unique healing mechanism is responsive to various structural degradations including microcracks under bending conditions and severe fractures upon large stretching. The compliant conductor demonstrates high conductivity of ~12,000 S/cm, ultrahigh stretchability of up to 1,200% strain, an ultralow threshold to activate the healing actions, instantaneous electrical recovery in microseconds, and exceptional electromechanical durability.
